While most of you know who Charan is, Gautam needs a bit of introduction. He is none other than the son of senior comedian Brahmanandam and who made his debut in ‘Pallakilo Pellikoothuru’ which went miserable as flop

Now, Gautam is set to make a comeback with some safe bets. He is likely to be in the film along with Ram Charan Teja, son of Megastar Chiranjeevi and the film will be directed by Chandrasekhar Yeleti who has given some of the finest hits like Aithe, Anukokunda Oka Roju and Okkadunnadu. The details of this project are yet to be known in full and Ram Charan will be doing a film with SS Rajamouli as of now. Probably, this film may hit the floors after Rajamouli’s flick.

Brahmanandam must surely be hoping that this venture will give the launch pad that his son is looking for. Let us wish him all the best.

Downing the curtains for the assumptions that a competition rift has started between Ram Charan and Allu Arjun, the latter came out with his statements freshly in an interview.

He said, “Vaadu (Ram Charan) chaala intelligent. He (Ram Charan) has great grasping that a dancing step that we learned after practicing for 15 days was done by him in two days. Then I understood the power of genes and blood”.

Saying about Ram Charan’s relation with him, “My father has been loyal to Chiranjeevi garu. But I will prove that I’m more loyal to Ram Charan. I’m here like this only because of Chiranjeevi garu. Without him I’m no where. Till now I have only one Chiranjeevi garu. But now I have two Chiranjeevis”.

He also added saying, “I’m not surprised looking at Ram Charan’s dance and fights. I know he will do that way. I also don’t say thanks to fans sitting in the status of Chiranjeevi’s family member. I’m also a fan here”.

That’s how Arjun came out with his feeling

‘Charan is good but the story is bad. Charan’s voice is good but the screenplay is not good. Charan’s dance is good but Puri’s narration is bad…’

These are the comments those have been making rounds after the release of Chirutha. When the same thing was asked to Puri, he said, “I did what Chiranjeevi garu asked me to do. He asked me to project his son well. That was fulfilled. Chiranjeevi garu hugged me after watching the first positive of the film. That’s enough for me. When the purpose of showing Ram Charan in right degree is served, I don’t feel anything if people say that my story is not up to the mark”.

So Puri is happy even though the negative feedback on his story is heard. He also said that he never takes life serious and hence his stories also will be week and there will be no heaviness in that.(……..covering)

Opinion: Rating Of Ram Charan In ‘Chirutha’ September 30, 2007

Chirutha is unique film in Tollywood history , where it does not matter if the movie is good or bad, hit or flop, has story or not.. It’s all about Ram Charan.. With instant fan following and mega expectations, everybody has the one question in their mind.

“Does he have the stuff to be a successor of Megastar?”

It’s a huge test for Ram Charan and let’s check how he has done as an artiste in different departments..

Acting: The writer (also the director) has created scenes filled with love, sentiment, comedy, anger and Charan performed like a seasoned actor. Especially the scenes involving his mother came out very well. Though there are some rough edges to be sharpened, overall he did a fantastic job, considering it’s his first movie.
Score: 7/10

Diction: Typically debutant heroes has some kind of rawness in their voices, but surprisingly Charan has done his homework well and uttered dialogues with right kind of pitch , intensity and timing. Puri’s sharp one-liners definitely helped to mask any short comings.
Score: 6.5/10

Dance: As a successor to megastar, there are lot of expectations on Charan’s dancing abilities and he definitely meets or exceeds all of them. He has natural grace in his body and it’s a treat watching him dance.
Score: 9/10

Fights: His introduction scene is with a fight which stands out as one of the highlights of the movie. His facial expression during action sequences is good.
Score: 8/10

Appearance: He may not be most handsome hero in Tollywood , but has enough glamour to say he is good looking. He has toned his body well and possesses good screen presence.
Score: 6.5/10

Overall Score: 7.5/ 10

Bottom Line: Kurrodilo Dammu Undi…

First Things First

Chirutha. It is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Son of the biggest star in Tollywood making grand entry bound to create lot of curiosity and hungama. Amidst all the hoopla, megastar Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan arrives with Chirutha.

Ram Charan passes the muster as hero..

The first question on every mind would be is how Chiru son looked on the screen? And the answer is – Ram Charan

passes the muster in his maiden movie. He is good and looked extremely confident in his first film itself. He has screen presence. Like his father, he has scored big way in dances and action sequences. In all the songs, his steps evoke claps from Megastar’s fans. For a debutant, this is a big achievement. Ram Charan as hero scores. Charan also has an agile and well-built body that will help him in the future. He is hero to stay. But he also should concentrate on dialogue delivery.

..then what about the film?

Well, reading all the praise for Charan, one might be disappointed to know that the film is not that exciting. Chirutha fails on content. Director Puri Jagannadh who has given two blockbusters in a row – Pokiri and Desamuduru – comes with a weak script (does it really have any?). It seems he has more relied on songs and stunts. That is why we see more of them anything else. Even the placement of the songs are not good.

His screenplay goes this – a song, one scene and song..and so on. Even after the interval, you don’t see much story. The last 20 minutes is the only portion that has major strength and of course, Ali’s comedy.

What’s the

There isn’t much story but it goes like this Charan (Ram Charan) accepts jail term to save his mother. His father (Surya) is killed by Bhai (Ashish Vidyardhi). 12 years later, Charan seeks employment. He meets a beauty Sanjana (Neha Sharma) who is rich daughter of businessman (Prakash Raj) and loves her. Charan gets employment as a tourist guide in Bangkok. Sanjana too comes there as a tourist. And after a long drama, Sanjana too loves him but then he reveals his real aim – to take avenge on his father’s killer. Rest of the movie is how performs it.

The climax fight and songs stand out in the film. Last 15 minutes is an asset. As always for a Puri film, Ali’s comedy works out in its favour.

Apart from, Ram Charan, Neha Sharma also debuts in the movie. She plays the role of a super rich brat and she is shown in mostly mini skirts or minimal clothes. She is sexy but due to her clothes she looks lacking ‘heroine material’. Prakash Raj does the role convincingly. Ashish Vidyardhi, Surya, Brhamanadam, Dharmavarapu are okay. Ali as a transvestite brings laughes.

Sam K Naidu’s camerawork is eye-catching. The island scenes are panoramic through his camera. With each film, he is giving best quality. Editing is not that neat. Vijayan’s action choreography is advantage.

Puri Jagannadh this time also fails in dialogues and his screenplay and direction is anything but praise worthy. Producer Ashwinidutt’s production values are rich.

Chirutha showcases megastar’s son Ram Charan’s abilities rightly. He has good screen presence and good at dances and actions. Hence he might win the hearts. Despite weak script and not so innovative taking, Ram Charan gets noticed.

It’s going to be the biggest ever debut in the history of Telugu films. The megastar of Tollywood, Chiranjeevi, introduces his son Ramcharan Tej as hero in “Chirutha”, which releases worldwide this Friday. Ramcharan, better known as Cherry, is a star kid without airs. He has maintained a low profile, which has created a lot of hype and raised expectations about “Chirutha”. The film features Neha Sharma, a Delhi model, as heroine. Jagapathy Babu plays a crucial role and there’s some great music by Mani Sharma. The film, directed by hit-maker Poori Jagannath and produced by veteran Aswini Dutt, is a love story with an ample dose of action. Remember Poori’s packaging has made actors such as Mahesh Babu (“Pokkiri”) and Allu Arjun (“Desamudhru”) superstars among the youth audiences in Andhra Pradesh.

CHIRUTHA will have premier shows in USA all major cities.

Revenue officials selling Chirutha tickets September 28, 2007

It may sound strange, but it is true. Revenue authorities in East Godavari district have stepped in to supervise the sales of tickets for the Telugu film Chirutha. They have fanned out at all the threatres where the film is going to be screened on Friday. They will sit in the box office and ensure that all the tickets are sold legally.

The move is to ensure that there’s no blackmarketing of Chirutha tickets anywhere in the districts. Since there had been trouble during release of high profile films in the past, the revenue authorities do not want to see any trouble over the Chirutha sales. They want to put an end to the blackmarketing of cinema tickets.

During the recent release of Rajnikant flick, tickets were sold in the black for as high as Rs 2,500. There were also instances of trouble in East Godavari district involving the relatives of a minister. As Chirutha is going to have large fan following, the revenue officials in the district have plugged the loopholes.

Some wonder whether it is a check on the megastar.

As the Chirutha is hitting the screens on September 28, Megastar Chiranjeevi is said to have done whirlwind tour around Hyderabad city to check the posters and hoardings of the film. He is content with the posters and its designs (done by Dhani Aeley). The film was recently censored and Chiru who saw the movie is reportedly happy with the outcome of the film.

He is waiting for the result from the general public – how well the public receives his son Ram Charan Teja is his main concern. Puri Jagannadh is also happy that Chiru liked the movie whatever the portions he has seen so far.
