Remember Rekha who was once the toast of Tollywood? Post the success of Usha Kiron Movies’s Anandam, she became quite busy in Telugu. But after a few debacles this Bangalore babe, she packed her bags. After a long gap, the svelte figure is here albeit with a new name. She has changed her name to Akshara and is acting opposite Ravi Krishna in his new film titled Ninna Nedu Repu.
She also looks radiant and glamorous. The reason for her name change, she informs us, is because of a story appeared in a TV channel. “By mistake it was reported that actress Rekha had died in an accident. My friends and well-wishers in Hyderabad informed me about this. So I thought of beginning new phase with a new name,” she reasoned.

Srikanth Chenna who directed Hyderabad Nawabs is directing a Telugu film with hero Ravi Krishna. The film has been titled Ninna Nedu Repu. Earlier, Hello, was the title considered for.
Nookarapu Surya Prakash Rao produces it on SPR Entertainments banner. Askhara (formerly Rekha) and Tammana are the heroines. The film is currently being shot in Hyderabad.
“It is a different love story and we are also making it in Tamil. We have finished the first schedule,” Koonireddy Srinivas, executive producer, informed the media.
Hero Ravi Krishna said the prime reason for accepting the film is its altogether different script. “And also my character has lots of variations and has scope for a good performance,” he said.
Akshara said she is glad making come back after 3, 4 years.
she also said “I rechristened my name as Akshara from Rekha and coming back in Telugu films again. A couple of years back TV9 ran a story that I died. I am currently doing many films in Kannada and ad shoots in Mumbai. This is my comeback film.
